Definition

What is the W-Q62 ecosystem?

The W-Q62 is a modular counter-UAS surveillance and security upgrade ecosystem for the Axis Q62, a multi-sensor PTZ unit that combines optical zoom and thermal imaging in one weatherproof housing.

Wiseled adds precision IR illumination, extended-range thermal performance and laser-based effectors. Modules are selected, combined and upgraded without replacing the platform. Three defined configurations cover counter-UAS, security surveillance and critical infrastructure protection.

Operational gap

Why do airfields, ports and bases need more than commercial PTZ?

The threat picture has shifted. Small UAS, vessels on the approach and vehicles at the perimeter sit between standard commercial security and full military-specification procurement.

W-Q62 counter-UAS surveillance is designed for that gap: capability that otherwise requires higher-cost military-specification hardware, on a platform that is affordable to deploy at scale.

Coverage by site

Which sites does the W-Q62 protect?

Three concept layouts for counter-UAS surveillance and site security, each with two W-Q62 positions: an airfield for counter-UAS, a port for critical infrastructure protection and a military base for perimeter security.

Operator needs

Which operator needs does W-Q62 counter-UAS surveillance address?

Counter-UAS

Identify small UAS at range, day and night

Zoomable thermal and IR extend the distance at which a drone can be identified.

Counter-UAS

Where does the W-Q62 sit in a counter-UAS system?

A counter-UAS system covers detection, tracking, classification and response. In counter-UAS surveillance, the W-Q62 handles the detection and classification layer, with zoomable thermal and IR for extended-range identification. See the W-Q62 counter-UAS configuration.

Platform rationale

Why build on the Axis Q62?

The Q62 is capable enough for serious operational use, affordable enough to deploy at scale and supported by a mature integration ecosystem. Wiseled’s upgrades keep that cost-performance balance and add counter-UAS surveillance capability that otherwise requires higher-cost military-specification hardware.

What is W-Q62 counter-UAS surveillance?

W-Q62 is a counter-UAS surveillance and security upgrade ecosystem from Wiseled for the Axis Q62 PTZ platform. It adds precision IR illumination, extended-range thermal performance and laser-based effectors for detecting, tracking and classifying drones, vessels and vehicles.

Which applications does the W-Q62 support?

Three verticals: counter-UAS, security surveillance and critical infrastructure protection. Each is available as a defined configuration.

What role does the W-Q62 play in a counter-UAS system?

It covers the detection and classification layer: detecting, tracking and classifying UAS with zoomable thermal and IR for extended-range identification. Response is handled at system level.

Which sites is the W-Q62 used for?

Concept layouts include airfields, ports and military bases, each covered from two W-Q62 positions.

Can a W-Q62 configuration be upgraded later?

Yes. Modules are selected, combined and upgraded without replacing the Axis Q62 platform.

Does Wiseled support integrators and OEMs?

Yes. Pre-integration support, interface documentation and field deployment guidance are available on request at sales@wiseled.com.
