Operating FALCON effectively is a trained skill: beam control, spectral channel selection, and target engagement under time pressure. Wiseled and Kanda have built a VR environment where operators can train these competencies before handling a fielded unit.
Kanda, a Danish VR training provider with an established track record in certifiable simulator training, has rebuilt FALCON ‘s physical control grip inside a VR headset setup. Zoom, spectral channel selection, and aiming motion match the fielded unit’s controls one to one, in a simulated operational scene.
This turns FALCON training into something that can be repeated: the same scenario run consistently across personnel and locations, without a live unit, a range, or weather-dependent conditions. New operators can build proficiency in beam control and channel selection before their first session with the physical platform, and instructors can standardise what “competent” looks like across a training group — a headset and a control grip replace the need to schedule access to a single physical unit shared across a whole customer organisation.
VR proficiency is a training step, not a certification: final sign-off remains tied to the fielded unit.
