Wiseled provides IR illumination systems for vehicle DVE and situational awareness programmes.
Military and security vehicles operate at night. The ability to navigate, identify threats and maintain situational awareness in low-light and no-light conditions is a fundamental operational requirement – one that has driven the adoption of thermal imaging, image intensification and EO/IR sensor systems across land vehicle platforms worldwide.
Those sensor systems perform to their specifications. Their performance at night depends on the quality of illumination available. Wiseled provides the IR illumination systems that extend their operational envelope – selected by OEMs for vehicle DVE programmes and proven in service on weapon station platforms including the Kongsberg Protector RS4.
Driver vision enhancement systems give vehicle crews situational awareness and navigation capability in conditions where unaided vision fails. Thermal imaging handles passive detection in darkness. For the optical channel to contribute meaningfully to a DVE system in low-light and no-light conditions, active near-infrared illumination is required.
The RAVEN IR illuminator is designed specifically for DVE integration. Its precision optics produce a squared illumination pattern matched to standard camera and NVG sensor aspect ratios – the beam geometry aligns with the sensor’s field of view, maximising usable irradiance on target and eliminating the edge falloff and wasted output that circular-beam illuminators produce outside the sensor coverage area.
The result is a stable, uniform night image that supports navigation and situational awareness at operational speeds. The RAVEN has been selected by multiple OEMs as the infrared illuminator of choice for their vehicle DVE programmes.

Wiseled works directly with platform OEMs and vehicle programme teams on illumination requirements from initial interface definition through to qualified system delivery. Products are designed for integration from the outset – standardised connectors, documented interfaces, flexible control architectures and published technical data packages reduce programme risk and integration lead time.
Custom configurations are available for programmes where standard products require adaptation. Wavelength options, control interface variants and mechanical configurations can be specified to match platform requirements.
